Makes my teeth hurt… and white (it’s like a combo!)
Having used the Crest Whitestrips in the past as well as a mold tray from my Dentist, I believe that the results from the Dentist are much better. Cost is an interesting consideration mostly because my Dentist gives the peroxide gel away for free upon request after a normal visit (I suppose he’s making enough profit from the visit to give away some whitening gel). While I know this is not standard practice for all dentists, I have heard similar stories from friends which makes me think it is becoming more common. That being said, the Whitestrips are much easier to get a hold of and therefore more accessible to the general public.
For general use, I have found that the Whitestrips are the best “over the counter” solution on the market. Far better than the gimmicky whitening toothpaste or mouthwash (that have never whitened anything as far as I could tell) or even the boil-and-use trays.
The benefits are simple – your teeth get whitened (two to four shades seems average).
The disadvantages are a bit more complex.
I do not have sensitive teeth, however after using the Whitestrips my teeth did hurt in a sharp, achy sort of manner (this was not while eating). This sensation would occur around an hour or so after using the strips on teeth which had zero cavities during my last checkup (usually the front incisors – the “thinnest” of teeth). I did not experience the same sensation with the peroxide from the dentist. It was not painful enough to stop using the strips, but enough to make you uncomfortable.
The strips also “slide” around and you get that really awesome “goo mouth” after leaving the strips on for the required half hour. Sometimes it was hard to tell whether or not the strips were actually on the parts of the teeth you wanted whitened, or if they had “crawled up” to some random location while being worn.
All-in-all, the Whitestrips do what they promise – they whiten your teeth. However the general delivery method makes for a mediocre product. Also, just in case some of you still harbor any misconceptions, this needs to be said:
THERE ARE NO OVER THE COUNTER WHITENING AGENTS THAT WILL MAKE YOUR TEETH PERFECTLY WHITE!
Unless we’re talking paint… then maybe.
The fact is that most of the “Hollywood” teeth you see now days are not whitened, they’re veneers. Perfectly shaped, blindingly blue-white, and tightly packed with zero gaps. Those are not natural, and your teeth will never look like that by using Whitestrips alone.
As long as you understand that and just want your natural dull’ish teeth to be slightly whiter, then you have realistic goals in mind for this product.
Did not work as promised
In their efforts to be “enamel safe”, crest compromised away the effectiveness of their product. I used this entire kit over 10 days as directed, including placing the strips on my teeth in the morning -before- brushing. Not only were the strips a pain to apply, lacking adhesion, and uncomfortable to wear (little to no talking) but they just plain didn’t work. A waste of time and money.
It Works
The first time I used Whitestrips was a decade ago; at the time I was reasonably happy with the result even though it took the better part of a month of two a day sessions. At least my teeth were whiter for the experience. Fast forward ten years to the last couple weeks with this product, and once a day treatments over ten days. They’ve certainly improved the results over the years.
What I like: the “3D” texture of the gel allows it to better fit in the gaps between teeth resulting in a more uniform whitening. Also, for whatever reason the coloring is more uniform up and down over the surface of the teeth; when I did it long ago there was a distinct banding effect, not with these. And despite being at least twice as quick as the original, it doesn’t appear to be any harsher chemically.
What I don’t like: the strips are hard to keep in place and slide all over the place if you have to speak; and gives speaking a bit of a lisp. It’s hard to get the strips out of their individual containers; the pouches will tear but not open and if you reach in side you are likely to crumple a strip.
Still, I’m glad to be able to brighten my smile, and it seems a reasonable price to pay.

Pet Stain and Odor Remover
This Bissell formula is very good for all types of pet messes on carpeting. The cleaning power is good and the scent is pleasant. Since I care for many foster dogs in my home, I buy a lot of this product.
best at deep soil removal
I’ve bought the big gallon jug of this for years. I’ve tried many others but, I’ve always come back to the Pet & Soil formula because it is the best on the market (does what it says and more).
It will clean up rugs, drapes, and furnature that have be messed up by muddy pets (I’ve got dogs that love to go swimming then roll in the dirt and grass afterwards!), smokey fires, and even minor flood/sewer waters. It removes the smells and cleans everything up like new. So thanks for this product.
The product is one of the few on the market that doesn’t sud up so much that you spend an hour getting soap out of the carpet… so this is another excellent feature.
I don’t know about where they are getting there $118 dollar price tag as the Suggested Manfacturer Price but since it doesn’t say how many Gallons (or oz.) it is, maybe it’s huge! Point being, don’t believe that price; you will find it all over the place for under $20 (even from Bissell).

Don’t Throw Away the Shaving Cream Yet
Let me preface this review by saying that I hate shaving. I shave a lot of stuff- legs, arms, armpits, bikini area, and my big toe. I can get away with shaving some areas once a week, but my legs need to be shaved at least every other day during the summer or there is visable black stubble. I have very sensitive skin that often gets razor burn and ingrown hairs. So I got this thinking, perfect! Three blades= close shave; built in shave gel= more convenient and faster.
Well, there are several issues with this razor. During the first use, I noticed two things: One, there is a lot of slobbery goop coming off the razor… and two, the shave gel bars that sit above and below the blades make it very difficult to get a close shave. They do flex a little, but especially when they are new, they are cumbersome and they block the blades from getting close enough to the skin, especially in contoured areas like the knee and the bikini area. It does moisturize well, though, and at least for the first use or two, you won’t need to use any shaving cream. I didn’t have any razor burn, but I had a lot of stray hairs around my knees that I wasn’t able to shave.
By the third use, those gel bars have worn down a little (or a lot) and you can get a closer shave. But now with less slobbery gel goop, you are very likely to have irritated skin or little cuts. I have to use soap to lubricate my skin before shaving if the cartridge is not brand new, and I keep cutting my armpit with this razor and I didn’t seem to have that problem with the regular Venus razor.
The gel is either gone or falls off by about the fifth or sixth use. These cartridges are just way too expensive to have to replace them so often. I found that leaving the razor in the shower cuts it’s life even shorter so I keep it in a cupboard when I’m not using it… so the razor caddy that sticks to the wall in the shower doesn’t serve much purpose. Maybe if you are the only one who uses your shower and you shave every time you’re in there you can get some use out of it.
I like using this on my legs during the summer when I shave every day and I don’t want to spend the extra time with shaving cream. I don’t like using this on my armpits and bikini area; I keep cutting myself or leaving stubble. I wouldn’t buy this again- the regular Venus is easier to maneuver and shaves closer. Even if I have to buy shaving cream again.
Maybe it’s just me
I’ve been happy with various Venus shaving cartridges since they were first introduced. I’ve kept the original handle, but always tried out the new cartridges when they were released. Now, this one has a solid soap on top and bottom of the razor blades, to take the place of your shaving cream. I thought this would be good.
I haven’t cut my legs while shaving for probably 10 years…until today, when I used this razor. Because the head is very wide (to contain the soap strips), it is difficult to see if you’re actually cutting the hairs short enough, or maybe you’re just cutting them “shorter” but not shaving them down to the skin. I found myself pressing very hard to make sure the razor blades would reach the skin, and unfortunately, four times they not only reached the skin but went below it.
I won’t be using the Spa Breeze again. But maybe this is just me.
Great Feel
This is a reasonably priced high quality razor.
My wife indicates that she really likes the lotion bars, that they make it so it does not even feel like one is using a razor. It prevents razor burn as well as pulling and tugging. With this design, it is not necessary to use shaving cream or soap for a lubricant.
The downside of these razors is that there is no guard so when they get wet, the lotion bars fall off before they are all used up. The refills are also a bit pricey.
Nevertheless, this is a very nice shaving tool that is well worth a try.

Depend Extra Absorbent Female Underwear Small-medium
I notice that the product is inferior to the same product of several months ago. Absorbitency is less than before. Also, the fit is not as secure arund the leg openings as in previous shipments. Nighttime use is very inefficient – even though I add two boost pads at night, I still end up with soaked bed pad and sheet.
Excellent choice.
This is an excellent product. My wife has been using these for several months without problems.
